Funding & Donations
Since the inaugural meeting of the British Doctors & Dentists Group in 1973, funding of all national and local group activities has been met by donations from members at BDGG meetings …. through ‘passing the collection pot’ at the end of meetings!
BDDG has never sought, or received, any outside funding …. no financial support from NHS, GMC, GDC, PHP or, indeed, from any other outside organisation!
Following the Covid lockdown, many BDDG Groups lost face-2-face meetings and opened online ZOOM meetings, where the ‘pot’ could not be passed!
The move towards online meetings has seen many BDDG Groups lose regular subscriptions and often run at a loss, which has had the knock-on effect of reducing the funds available for the Convention and Bursary Funds this year.
The Convention and Bursary Scheme, in their current forms, will struggle to continue for a further year without your support!
To continue in their current format, it is essential we ask those members, who can afford to do so, to donate to the Bursary Fund this year and, maybe over years to come!
Some BDDG Groups collect subscriptions from members, and vote on how to allocate this money – thank you to all Groups over the years who have earmarked some of this for bursaries, and should you wish to do so again, please contact our National Treasurer on nattreasurer@bddg.org.
If you wish to make an individual contribution, you can do so via the Convention Booking Form in the BDDG Members Only section and enter the amount in the Bursary Donation Box), scan the QR code below and donate via PAYPAL, or make a Bank Transfer / Standing Order to the BDDG National Account (details in the BDDG Members Only section).
All donations made in this way will be allocated as you request (Convention Fund, General Fund or Bursary Fund) and will be transparent for anyone interested in their allocation.
